Non-Jordanian Investments at the ASE during July 2009 |

The total value of shares that were bought by Non-Jordanian investors since the beginning of the year 2009 until July was JD1624.7 million, representing 24.7% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD1583.9 million. As a result, the net of non-Jordanian investment until July 2009 showed an increase by JD40.8 million, compared to an increase by JD234.3 million in the same period of the year 2008.
Arab investors purchases during 2009 were JD1462.6 million, or 90.0% of the overall purchases by non-Jordanians, while the value of non-Arab purchases amounted to JD162.1 million, constituting 10.0%. Arab investors sales amounted to JD1430.1 million, 90.3% of non-Jordanians total sales, while the value of non-Arab sales amounted to JD153.8 million, representing 9.7% of the total sales by non-Jordanians.
The total value of shares bought by non-Jordanian investors during July 2009 was JD94.7 million, representing 17.2% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD121.3 million. Thus, the net of non-Jordanian investment during July 2009 showed an decrease by JD26.7 million.
Non-Jordanian ownership in companies listed at the ASE by end of July 2009 represented 48.8% of the total market value, 33.4% for Arab investors and 15.4% for non-Arab investors. At the sector level, the non-Jordanian ownership in the financial sector was 50.9%, in the services sector was 32.7%, and in the industrial sector was 53.6%.
